Families come in all shapes and sizes and sometimes just need a little extra help to meet needs – and that's where FROM Family Support comes in. We help with a variety of needs including school supplies, medical equipment rental, Christmas presents and more

Our Backpack Program is offered every August, just in time to start the new year!
Families come with their children, select a backpack, and get supplies specific to their student's school and grade!
This program is available to school-aged children (preschool – high school senior) who live in the Lowell Area School District and whose family's income is 300% or less of the Federal Poverty Level.

Medical equipment can be a large and unexpected expense for many people, especially if insurance doesn’t cover the items needed.
FROM’s offers a Medical Equipment Loan Closet where participants can borrow medical equipment and borrow it for as long as they need.
The Medical Equipment Loan Closet is open weekly, Monday–Thursday, 10AM – 4PM.

income tax assistance
Partnered with United Way and the IRS, FROM offers income tax assistance each year through the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) Program.
Kent County residents who meet the income guidelines can schedule an appointment to have their taxes e-filed for free by IRS-trained volunteers at FROM's Main Office.

This free program allows parents to shop for popular gifts for their children, aged 0-18. The Christmas Food Basket is offered with this program and provides a Christmas dinner with all the fixings for families to cook at home.
Registration is required. Sign-ups begin October 15th.
